Did a reharmonization of another local Christmas carol &#8211; actually a German tune: &#8220;Leise Rieselt der Schnee&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;Snow is falling Softly&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tried to stay true to the formula that I had used on some other Christmas tunes (e.g., <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/?p=2486\">Alle Jahre Wieder<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First a plain, no-bells-no-whistles version of the song. <\/li><li>Followed by a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voicing_(music)#Drop_voicings\">drop-2<\/a> version, that is still not too fancy but already sets the mood.<\/li><li>Third version: That&#8217;s where I do whatever I feel like: Harmonically, but also, slight modifications of the melody allowed. For &#8220;Leise Rieselt der Schnee&#8221; I went with a little more rhythm and less harmonic complications.<\/li><li>A reprise of the original tune.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/LeiseRieselt.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Download brass quartet sheet music: Leise Rieselt der Schnee.
