{"id":308,"date":"2011-04-17T20:21:16","date_gmt":"2011-04-17T18:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/?p=308"},"modified":"2013-07-18T18:04:07","modified_gmt":"2013-07-18T16:04:07","slug":"music-and-nostalgia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/?p=308","title":{"rendered":"Music and Nostalgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not of the stuff in this post happened today, but I just realized that I&#8217;ve never really shared any of the music stuff going on in my life on my blog so far.<\/p>\n<p>The first photo I took like 2 weeks ago when we performed the St. John Passion composed by Hubert Hanghofer, a local composer, with a small orchestra, a huge choir and some really good soloists (Franz Kalchmair\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Franz_Kalchmair\">http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Franz_Kalchmair<\/a>, Herbert Scheib\u00f6ck, &#8230;) \u00a0While I have to admit that I don&#8217;t like all of Hubert&#8217;s compositions, I have to say that his Passion is a really great piece of art. She is an\u00a0archeologist\u00a0now &#8211; wow, my first encounter with a real &#8220;Indiana Jones&#8221;-kind of person!!!<\/p>\n<p>Today was another concert at our church which we played with our local wind band, here&#8217;s another photo:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/IMAG0155.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-315    aligncenter\" title=\"Wind Band\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/IMAG0155-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/IMAG0155-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/IMAG0155.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The third\u00a0facet\u00a0of my music that I&#8217;d like to share in this post is my piano version of &#8220;If You Could Read My Mind&#8221; which I played and recorded about 2 month ago. It&#8217;s not very fancy and I did not care too much about the quality of my playing, but I still like it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chschmid.com\/media\/ifyoucou.mp3\">If You Could Read My Mind<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Somehow it makes me miss the times when I studied piano at Anton Bruckner University. You know the kind of strange feeling you have about something beautiful that you had to let go. There is not too much regret in it but a certain form of nostalgia.<\/p>\n<p>What are the things that you miss? What&#8217;s in your nostalgia closet?
