Having a scientific background there was just no way around setting up an experiment: 8 experts, 12 different kinds of Austrian beer and a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blind_taste_test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blind taste test<\/a>. It blew me away how many suitable adjectives they found for describing the smell, looks and taste of beer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-12-15.13.42.jpg\">&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-658 alignnone\" title=\"2012-10-12 15.13.42\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-12-15.13.42-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-12-15.13.42-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-12-15.13.42-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.chschmid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-12-15.13.42.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The results were similarly astonishing. I don&#8217;t want to bore you with statistics (that&#8217;s what we had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libreoffice.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LibreOffice Calc<\/a> for), so here just some major findings:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Zipfer scored the highest number of points from 2\/8 testers -&gt; &#8220;Zipfer is do koa so a Foazgschwoabat&#8221; &#8211; Zipfer beer is not so bad after all.<\/li>\n<li>Only one tester (out of 8!!) successfully identified the non-alcoholic beer Schlossgold<\/li>\n<li>The logical conclusion: Marketing really seems to have a huge influence on our favorite beer choices &#8211; more than the obvious parameters looks, smell and taste.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know when, but it was so much fun, I am sure I will do something like this again!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It all started with a simple question &#8220;Is des Zipfa wirklich so a Foazgeschwoabat?&#8221; &#8211; &#8220;Is Zipfer beer really so bad after all&#8221;.
